This term the Year 4 students having been learning about bridges and giving instructions. We made a 'Harbour Bridge' pattern out of string by listening closely to a utube clip and following the instructions. We then identified the prepositions needed to complete the task and retold the instructions orally while making the Harbour Bridge. After that the Year 4's wrote 6 line Poems about bridges. This was a rich learning task that motivated and engaged our English Language Learners and encouraged them to orally retell what they did.
